Project Manager:
Role Overview:As a Project Manager with our company, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing various marine projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in ship repair and new construction, coupled with extensive experience in project management, scheduling, purchasing, government regulations, and marine electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of marine projects, including ship repair, new construction, and marine infrastructure projects.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks and milestones.
- Oversee purchasing activities, including procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for project execution.
- Navigate government regulations and ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards.
- Utilize expertise in marine electrical systems to contribute to project planning and execution.
- Create and maintain Gantt charts to effectively track project progress and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
- Monitor project budgets and expenses, implementing cost-saving measures when necessary.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues to minimize disruptions and delays.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and project success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in ship repair and new construction within the maritime industry.
- Strong background in project management methodologies and tools.
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining project schedules using Gantt charts and other software tools.
- Demonstrated experience in purchasing, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management.
- Familiarity with government regulations and compliance requirements related to marine projects.
- In-depth knowledge of marine electrical systems and their integration into project planning and execution.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
